Planning safe travel destinations in the midst of a pandemic is a bit challenging however not impossible. My family and I took a road trip to Chincoteague Island for a few nights. I have been wanting to visit Chincoteague and Assateague Island for a while now and since it is only a 3.5 hours drive from Norther Virginia it was an easy weekend trip.

Over Fourth of July weekend my family and I took a road trip to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina also known as The Outer Banks. I received so many messages on Instagram asking how it was and if I felt safe traveling post COVID. To be honest we were about to cancel two days before out trip with all the rising COVID cases. However I searched the zip code we were traveling to on the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus map and ultimately my family and I made the decision to go. I’m sharing all the details about our trip and how we traveled safely to enjoy a change of scenery and have some fun in the sun.
