Attending the Mubadala DC Open has been on my summer bucket list for years, so I was thrilled to be invited by JUST ICE TEA and MOKI PR to experience it for the first time! One of the best things about the tournament is that you do not have to be a devoted tennis fan to enjoy it. Between the exciting matches, great food, interactive brand activations, and lively atmosphere, it is such a fun summer event in Washington, DC. There is always something happening both on and off the court.

What to Know Before You Go
My biggest recommendation is to take a rideshare or public transportation. On-site parking is limited and can cost around $50, so being dropped off made the experience much easier. We were able to arrive without worrying about finding a spot or navigating event traffic.
You should also prepare for classic July weather in DC: hot and humid! Wear something comfortable, stay hydrated, and bring sunscreen. One thing I loved about the event was seeing the wide range of personal styles. Some guests leaned into tennis-inspired outfits, while others wore sundresses, matching sets, athletic looks, or casual summer clothes. There is no single dress code, which makes the people-watching and overall atmosphere even more fun.

More Than Just Tennis
Be sure to give yourself time to explore beyond the matches. There are plenty of food and beverage options throughout the grounds, along with games, photo opportunities, giveaways, and activations from different brands.
Tuckernuck—one of my favorite brands—was also an official sponsor, which made the experience even more exciting for me. I loved browsing all of the tennis-themed merchandise and seeing how the brand brought its signature style to the tournament. Even if you are not shopping, the on-site activations are part of what makes the event feel like a full summer experience rather than just a day of tennis.
Of course, the matches are still the highlight. There is something completely different about watching tennis in person—the energy of the crowd, the speed of the game, and the excitement of every point make it easy to get invested, even if you do not regularly follow the sport.
My first Mubadala DC Open experience was the perfect mix of sports, style, shopping, food, and summer fun. If you are looking for a unique event to add to your DC summer itinerary, this tournament is definitely worth experiencing.

Thank you to JUST ICE TEA and MOKI PR for inviting me and helping me finally check this event off my bucket list!
