Checking in and stepping back in time at the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport. Ever Since the TWA Hotel opened in May 2019 I have been looking forward to visiting this iconic aviation theme inspired hotel.
The TWA Hotel is attached to Terminal 1 at JFK. From the airport it is easily accessible by hopping on the AirTrain to Terminal 1. From the city just hop on the E train toward Jamaica Center and get off at the second to last stop, Sutphin Blvd – Archer Av – JFK Airport, then transfer to the AirTrain. I will mention that the AirTrain costs an additional $7.50 to the subway ride. Be sure to load up your metro card if you plan on getting on the AirTrain from the city.
Keep in mind that currently due to COVID there were many guidelines in place and hours for certain things were limited. Therefore I highly recommend making dining reservations and pool reservations ahead of time if you are running on a tight schedule. The dining options at the hotel include the Paris Cafe and Food Hall. We made early dinner reservations the Paris Cafe and the food did not disappoint!
The hotel makes for some great retro photo-op locations, my favorite being the Connie airplane. I felt like stepped on to the set of Catch Me If You Can and channeled all the 60s fashion.
