Batik

August 13, 2014

Blazer: The Limited | Top: The Limited | Jeans: The Limited | Scarf: Sana Silk Batik Scarf |
Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target | Clutch: Steve Madden | Necklace: Bauble Bar |
Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Michael Kors | Lips: MAC Ruby Woo
I love color – as you can tell by my vibrant fashion choices. My sister gifted me this beautiful scarf by Sana Silk Batik Scarf. Batik is the method of producing colored designs on textiles which dates back to over 2000 years ago. Each of Sana’s Silk Batik Scarfs are handmade and exquisitely unique. I’m madly in love with the scarf my lovely sister got me!
Be sure to check out these beautiful scarves on Facebook!

Fantasy

August 12, 2014

Blouse: The Limited | Jeans: The Limited | Scarf: Haute Hijab | Belt: H&M | Shoes: Nordstrom (old) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Watch: Michael Kors | Lips: MAC Up The Amp

The moment I saw the Underwater Fantasy Scarf on Haute Hijab’s website I had a total fashion moment. I was searching for the perfect scarf to go with the Meab pendant I bought in June while in Ireland. The HH scarf and this pendant are a match made in fashion heaven! Swoon.

Papermoon Diner | Baltimore

August 5, 2014

Over the weekend I went on a quick trip to Maryland. My flight got in super early in the AM and my lovely sister picked me up (after a night shift) and treated me to breakfast at Papermoon Diner in Baltimore.  Paper moon is a very eclectic, fun, colorful place! We ordered the Challah French Toast Special and the Smarty Omelette – which were both delicious. Also can we all take a moment to recognize that this fabulous cow’s eyelashes are better than mine? So glamorous.

Summer Corn

July 29, 2014

Summer is al about BBQs and outdoor fun! One of my favorite summer dishes is BBQ corn! I love it! When I “lived” in Hawaii for three weeks I became straight up addicted to corn. Ever since I came back I have been trying to find a way to emulate BBQ corn but the oven version. Sometimes its just too hard to start up the whole grill for some corn. After interesting and trying a few things I finally constructed a great recipe! This recipe was approved by my bro and cousin – they practically inhaled it.

Ingredients:
  • Trader Joe’s Fresh Corn (4 in a pack)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Chopped Chives (fresh or dried) or Paprika
  • Parmesan Cheese

Instrcutions

  1. Put oven on 350 F
  2. Place aluminum foil in 13×9 pan (I use a cake pan)
  3. Cute corn in half and place all 8 pieces in the pan
  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper as desired.
  5. Either sprinkle chopped chives or paprika – depends to your taste like. I prefer it spicy however my family likes it with chives.
  6. Line up the corn in the pan and thinly slice the butter and place on top and in between the corn.
  7. Put the corn in the oven – after about twenty minutes flip the corn around and add some more slices of butter.
  8. Once the corn becomes golden and starts to sizzle you take it out of the oven.
  9. Immediately after sprinkle and cover the corn with parmesan cheese while it is still in the pan.
  10. Place the corn in a serving dish and enjoy!!
It is so easy to make since it can be made in the oven – which means corn year round not just in the summer! Hurray!

Flower Crown

July 23, 2014

Dress: LC Lauren Conrad (old) | Denim Jacket: The Limited | Scarf: Vela | Flower Crown: H&M | Clutch: Steve Madden | Sunnies: Ray-Ban | Shoes: DSW | Watch: Rumba |
Bracelets: Zeena, BaubleBar | Rings: BCBG, BaubleBar, Stella & Dot
If it was socially acceptable I would wear flower crowns on a daily basis – but for now I will keep it for the Ann Arbor Art Fair. This beautiful floral maxi is actually a hand-me-down from my sister’s closet! We go through phases where we exchange a bunch of our clothes. This happened recently and I couldn’t be happier. As for the flower crown – I saw it while in line and H&M and instantly new it would be perfect with this dress. Throw on a denim jacket, wedges, Vela scarf, and this lovely clutch and voila I’m a flower child who probably belongs at Coachella! Happy hump day!
