I love me some pattern and never shy away from it. The key for me is to incorporate a solid color to make the look put together and not color by numbers. The fuchsia pink ashton blouse from The Limited is the perfect top to go with these pattern pants. I have this blouse in pretty much every color! Honestly it is hands down the most versatile piece in my closet. I have worn these pants so many ways that they will definitely be on repeat this season on the blog! Happy Tuesday!

My friend Amber and I fully intended on going to an exhibition at the Library of Congress last week. However we may have miscalculated our timeline and ended up not making it there on time before it closed. Oops. Instead we ended up at the Capitol! Now lets talk fashion. Mixing patterns have become a huge trend. At first I totally avoided it however I’ve finally embraced it. The key is to incorporate neutrals and solid colors to polish the look and bring everything together. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Polka Dots & Tulips

By now I think everyone has caught on with my tulip obsession. Can you blame me? My name means Tulip in Persian therefore I have no choice other than to be obsessed. My friend Amber told me that this tulip needs to check out the tulips at Brookside Gardens. For the occasion I wore the Dorothy Skirt from Corilynn. I am obsessed with Corilynn’s blog and shop – she designs fabulous clothes, has adorable kids, and makes yummy sugar cookies. Her clothes are feminine, flattering, and just beautiful! I combined all my favorite thinks into this outfit: polka dots, bows, bright colors, and gold chains. This skirt will be on repeat this spring – sorry! After the Macy’s Fashion Show my besties and I went to the Tidal Basin area to catch a glimpse of the cherry blossoms at sunset! The views were stunning! The BaubleBar Rainbow Starlite necklace I’m wearing is my new obsession. I built my entire outfit around this necklace. To keep the necklace the center of attention I went with the basics – boyfriend jeans, white blouse, nude heels. The necklace has every color possible in it and I have to stop myself from wearing it every day.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram [@adayinthelalz] you know that I have been beyond excited to finally be in DC for the Cherry Blossoms. I may have over done it – but oh well! This trip to DC was on Tuesday just when the blossoms were starting to bloom. My friend and I went early in the morning to avoid the crowds and allow me to snap some photos! I have been waiting for months to wear this adorable French Connection Tulip Sweater. My name in Persian means Tulip – therefore anything tulip related is a win in my book! I usually shy away from pink but this sweater had me rethink my rule and I totally embraced it!

Yesterday my lovely friends and I went to Macy’s Metro Center in DC to see the Macy’s Spring 2014 Flower Fashion Show with host Courtney Kerr. The show was wonderful – learned a lot of helpful spring fashion tips from Courtney! At the beginning of the show Courtney announced the official IG hashtag to be #courtneylovesmacys and two lucky winners would be selected to win gift bags from Macy’s. I instagrammed my little heart out and was lucky enough to win! Yay! There was even delicious mini cupcakes from Hello Cupcake at the show! It was a super fun night with my girls!
