Vitamin C is a powerful skincare ingredient! The benefits of Vitamin C include reduce inflammation, fight free-radical damage, brighten skin, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce the appearance of discoloration and dark spots. I’ve used and tested many different brands of Vitamin C serums over the years. I’m sharing my top 3 favorite Vitamin C serums that work for all budgets.
The first Vitamin C serum I ever used was OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum. I absolutely loved the product and it worked well for me in my early 20s, however once I turned 26 I didn’t really feel like it was doing much for me. Therefore I started testing and trying new Vitamin C serums.
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum | I love this product for many reasons. I visibly saw results after 2-3 week of using it, my skin was brighter and I had an all around glow. It really improved the texture of my skin, I felt it was softer. Additionally I really love the packaging, it is airtight. The thing about Vitamin C is that as soon as it oxidizes it turns brown. The DE packaging keeps the serum tightly sealed therefore preventing any oxidization. This product is a bit pricey however it does last for a long time. I usually buy 2-3 bottles a year.
Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C Serum | It is no secret I am obsessed with Summer Fridays, I swear by the Jet Lag Mask. When they launched a Vitamin C serum I instantly had to try it. I used this product for about 6 months and really loved the texture of the serum and how lightweight the product is. I go back and forth between Drunk Elephant and Summer Fridays because I love both of these products very much. The only difference between the two is the price honestly. For the same amount of product, 1 oz, the Summer Fridays Vitamin C serum is a bit cheaper compared to DE.
Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum | I just started using this products in March after I saw Lindsay Silberman post about it. I ran out of the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum and my order from Sephora was delayed due to COVID, therefore I popped into my local target and grabbed the Bliss serum to add to my skincare routine. This product is effective and very affordable in my opinion. I do want to mention the serum has a bit of fragrance to it, it doesn’t bother me, it smells like a delicious orange cream-sickle. For the past 3 months I’ve been using it and I’m pleasantly surprised at how hydrated and bright my skin has been. I’m not sure if that has more to do with me wearing less makeup, due to working from home and quarantine, or adding the Bliss Vitamin C serum to my skincare routine. Either way I am happy with the results and I love finding an affordable and effective Vitamin C serum.
