Vitamin C is a great ingredient to give more glow and brighten your skin. I have been using a Vitamin C serum as part of my skincare routine for the past 5 years. I’ve never been loyal to a particular serum however for the past year I have been using Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum. I absolutely love this serum!
Vitamin C is known as one of the superstars of skincare. It’s a potent antioxidant that can help to smooth your skin, fade sun spots, increase firmness and elasticity, brighten skin tone, and protect skin from further damage. Vitamin C is beneficial to the skin in many ways. It protects it from accelerated aging thanks to its antioxidant effect. Additionally it boosts the production of collagen and preserves the density of the skin. It reduces the pigmentation spots and evens out skin complexion and gives an overall healthy glow to the skin.
From my online research and speaking with skincare experts I learned that not all vitamins C products are equal and neither are the ingredients they contain. Last year I went down a rabbit hole researching Vitamin C serums. One of the products that kept coming up in my research was the Vitamin C serum from Drunk Elephant, C Firma Day Serum. Prior to switching to Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum I was using the OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum. All the reviews I came across for Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum raved about the product. It’s a bit on the pricier side however all the reviews stated that it was worth it. I finally decided to take the plunge and picked up a bottle at Sephora to test it for myself.
What I love most about the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum is the brilliant packaging. The packaging protects the formula from air and daylight. When it comes to Vitamin C it’s essential the formula is packaged air tight because the air and the light make it oxidize quickly. The top of the DE bottle twists at the opening and pumps the serum. The twisted opening prevents exposing the formula to the air and prevents oxidation. This serum has a six month shelf life. Generally, it lasts me 3 months as I use it once a day as part of my morning skincare routine.
