I absolutely love midi skirts. I wear them year round and find them extremely flattering. Today I’m sharing how I shop for midi skirt and what’s my secret to finding modest midi skirts!
Typically I shop for midi skirts from Anthropologie (the sale section), Banana Republic, J. Crew, ASOS, and Nordstrom. The trick to finding a modest midi skirt is to shop for an A-Line silhouette skirt. A-Line skirts are generally fuller skirts, therefore not too tight, and sit at the waist and generally longer in length.
Another important thing to note is read the description of the item as it always lists the skirt length. My height is 5’3″ therefore midi skirts generally fall around my ankle. I usually shop for midi skirts that are between 30-34″ in length. I have found that this length works perfectly for me. Some brands, such as J. Crew and Banana Republic, have skirts in various lengths – petite, regular, and tall. I order midi skirts in tall in order to get a longer length, generally 2 inches. This beautiful picnic pattern midi skirt is 34.75″ in length and hits just at my ankles.
I have also noticed that retailers generally have modest midi skirts in stock during Spring and Fall. Those are the best times to shop and stock up on midi skirts.
I’ve linked a few of my favorite midi skirts below!
I am slowing falling in love with how elevated midi-skirts feel! I used to be afraid that they would make me look shorter – but I find them super flattering! Love how you’ve styled these.
I love this picnic inspired skirt! I actually purchased it thinking it would match one of my husband’s shirts but sadly the plaids were way off. Sadly, I decided to return but now having skirt envy seeing it on you!
