Iran Travel Diary – Food

FOOD. My trip to Iran consisted of many delicious meals and amazing foodie spots. Today I’m rounding up my favorite finds and food adventures.

Khavar Khanoom Restaurant in Sarvelat, Gilan Province – The food here is hands down amazing!! After reading and seeing a piece by Ariana Bundy it was on my list to visit. In addition to the delicious food, the view is spectacular. It was a bit overcast the day we went, however we were able to a lovely table on the terrace. There wasn’t much of a wait thankfully however I did hear that in the summer months and on weekends it is extremely busy! The wait is totally worth it because the food is phenomenal.

Brunch at Chai Bar in Tehran – this garden cafe is an adorable spot among the bustling town of Tehran for a lovely brunch. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and many cups of tea in the morning. Afterward we walked around the beautiful garden and took in the views.

Food Truck Heaven at 30 Tir – My sister found this spot and I am eternally grateful because I as in food truck heaven!! We went around lunch time and had burgers, sausage sandwiches, kabobs, and tea. In the evening they close down the street and there are a ton of vendors cooking up delicious food.

Delicious soup from Seyyed Mehdi at Tajreesh Bazaar – this is one of my favorite spots and I go every single time I’m in Tehran!!

Pomegranate dessert drink in Tehran – they have these stands all over the city and I definitely overindulge when I’m in town. I LOVE anything pomegranate and these dessert cups don’t disappoint.

Strolling Tajrish Bazaar for delicious fruits, vegetables, and snacks – A trip to Tajrish Bazaar is always on the itinerary when we are in Tehran. You can find everything there!! My favorite part of the bazaar is the food section, they have everything from pastries to fruits, vegetables, nuts, tea and much more!
