Where are you from? I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My ethnicity is Persian and I identify as an Iranian American.

What did you study in college? I graduated with a bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University majoring in Sociology and minoring in Chemistry. I have a Masters in Health Administration from The University of Maryland.

What is your current 9-5? I’m currently working in healthcare finance.

Where do you live? Washington, DC area

How many siblings do you have? Two – I have an older sister and a younger brother.

Do you have pets? Yes! Our family dog is an adorable Shih Tzu named Felfel which is Persian for Pepper.

What languages do you speak? Persian, English, and Spanish.

How tall are you? I’m 5’3 – basically fun size!

What kind of camera do you use? Nikon D5300

What is your fitness routine? Honestly I don’t have one. All the credit goes to good genes and a great metabolism. I just stick to small portions and frequent meals throughout the day. Also I drink a ton of water – I perpetually carry a S’well bottle.

Why did you name your blog A Day In The Lalz? My sister is the one that actually picked the name for my blog. It all began when I showed up in Hawaii where she was doing a Emergency Medicine rotation for a month in Oahu. Since I was there for a month she thought it would be a great idea to document my days spent in Hawaii in the form of a blog. To mimic the phrase “A Day In The Life” she came up with A Day In The Lalz – incorporating my nickname!

Where have you traveled to? I have been fortunate enough to travel to many cities within the United States. Abroad I’ve traveled to Canada, Mexico, Aruba, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Italy, France, Spain, Ireland, Turkey, Iran, UAE, United Kingdom, and South Korea.

Is blogging your full time job? No it is not. I have a full-time 9-5 job in healthcare administration. Interested to see where I work? Watch this video. Blogging is a passion of mine and I enjoy sharing my love for travel, fashion, and beauty with my readers.

How do you make money on your site? I make money on my blog by sponsored content and affiliates. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to work with some amazing brands and if I’m ever being paid for a blog post, it will be disclosed within the post that it’s “sponsored” and any gifted items will be marked with ℅. I’m also a part of an affiliate advertising program. This means that if you click and/or make a purchase through certain links on my site, I may make a commission from that click and/or purchase. I’m extremely selective when working with sponsors and I will only feature products and brands that I love. On many occasions I turn down opportunities and money all the time because it’s very important to me to include and only show products and companies that I am truly passionate about and personally use. In no way do I want to mislead my readers to make a purchase if I don’t truly believe in the product or brand. Honesty is the best policy!
