A Day In The Lalz

Current Night Skincare Routine

Breaking down my Nightly Skin Care Routine!

My nightly skincare routine is a bit longer than my morning skincare routine. I don’t mind it since I have the time to go through the steps and show my skin some love.

Step 1: Remove Make-Up // First things first, I remove my makeup. I either use the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelettes or Cadualie Make-up Cleansing Oil. Both these products are great at removing ALL my makeup, including mascara, and taking it all off. It generally depends how lazy I am being, which is my long days at work, that I opt for the towelettes instead of cleansing oil.

Step 2: Cleanse // Once my make-up is removed I cleanse my face with my cleanser and clarisonic. I use the 90 second mode on the clarisonic to really clean my face from all the dirt and makeup that’s on my skin from throughout the day.

Step 3: Toner // After cleansing I use a toner. My two favorite toners are this one and this one.

Step 4: Serum // I use a variety of serums, it really just depends what my skin needs. Currently I’m using the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, OLEHENRIKSON Invigorating Night Transformation Gel, and The Ordinary Buffet. All of these serums serve a different purpose and I tend to rotate between the three of them so that my skin doesn’t gets all the benefits from each.

Step 5: Eye Cream // I dab a little bit of eye cream and pat it into my under eyes and around my eye.

Step 6: Moisturize // At night I prefer to apply a more hydrating cream in order to moisturize my skin. I have been using First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream since college and absolutely love it! This cream is extremely hydrating and over time smooths out your skin complexion.

Step 7: Facial Oil + Facial Roller //  I recently started incorporating a facial oil and roller into my skincare routine. Read my post about the importance of facial oils here. I do this step about 2-3 times a week in order to give my skin extra hydration. I apply 2-3 drops of the facial oil into my skin and go over it with the facial roller in order to really get the product into my skin and help with puffiness.

Step 8: Extras // This step is to give my skin a little extra TLC. If I have any blemishes I will apply my go to drying potion to get rid of the blemish overnight. Read my blog post here about my favorite product and how to use it. When my skin is in need of extra hydration I will spray a bit if Caudalie Beauty Elixir before going to sleep. This product makes my skin feels radiant and smells absolutely incredible! I always have a bottle of this in my work bag and spritz it mid day to wake my skin up. If my under eyes are looking a bit tiered I will apply a generous amount of Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask under my eyes and leave overnight to get a dose of hydration. This mask is quickly becoming my favorite and solves all my skincare problems! It’s magic in a blue tube.
